Catlog Launches New "Stress Score" Feature to Visualize Hidden Stress in Cats

Catlog announces the release of a major new feature: the Stress Score, designed to help cat parents understand and monitor their cat’s unseen stress.
Using advanced analysis of daily data collected through Catlog, the new Stress Score evaluates multiple behavioral and physical indicators—such as changes in grooming habits, resting respiratory rate, and sleep quality—to provide a comprehensive view of a cat’s well-being. This update enables meow-sonalized stress monitoring, displaying a simple 3-level status: Normal, Slightly Elevated, and Elevated. If a cat remains in a stressed state for several days, an alert will notify the cat parent via the Catlog app.
This feature offers a new way for cat parents to detect signs of stress due to life changes such as moving, new family members, or other environmental shifts. It can also support early detection of health issues and help veterinarians with more informed consultations by presenting detailed behavioral data.
The Stress Score is part of RABO’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the QOL and well-being of cats and their families. This is the fifth major update to Catlog’s services, following other health-related features such as vomiting alerts and litter box usage tracking.
📅 Update Release Date:
June 24, 2025
About the Stress Score
The Stress Score analyzes behavioral data collected over the past 30 days for each cat. Using a personalized baseline unique to each individual cat, Catlog detects variations and provides a stress rating through a relative scoring system.
With a three-tier grading system and continuous monitoring alerts, the feature enables both routine check-ins and focused observation. This helps prevent “too late” situations by allowing timely care and early consultation with a veterinarian when necessary.
The Stress Score is available starting from version 5.6.0 of the Catlog app (iOS and Android). Update availability may vary slightly depending on region and app store.
Note: This feature is not a diagnostic tool and does not replace veterinary consultation. Please consult a veterinarian for medical advice.
Insights from the Catlog Institute
Alongside this feature launch, the Catlog Institute—RABO’s internal research center analyzing behavior data from Catlog users—has released a new report: How Temperature Changes Affect Cat Stress – Insights from the Stress Score”
This study explores seasonal and environmental factors impacting feline stress and provides valuable findings for both cat parents and researchers.
